Headshot RR Best R.R. Best has been published in newspapers such as the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Sun-Times, the The State Journal-Register in Springfield, the Decatur Herald & Review and the Mattoon Journal Gazette and is chief photographer for the Sullivan News•Progress, a job he has held for over 20 years.

R.R. Best has also been the publicity photographer for the “Little theatre On the Square” and for other area attractions and events.

1975 to present: In the Illinois Press Assn. annual photo contests, he has won six first place awards,
six second place awards, two third place awards and eight honorable mentions competing against other weekly newspapers with a circulation under 5,000.

1991: R.R. Best won a national first place award in the National News-paper Assn. contest for his photographic series of tornado damage. 1993. A second place national award for a photo of a house at halloween in the same contest.
